Canyon Creek 4/13

I bet you are all wondering where the heck Canyon creek is. Well, the truth is I dont know what this stream is called. I went to East Canyon today and got a little too impatient with the bank fishing. I decided to take a ride over to the road that leads to jeremy ranch. The little stream that follows the road is the one fished. There is only a tiny piece of public land there but all it took was one cast to hook into a nice brown. I fished for a minute there and then went home. There were just too many people at East Canyon. Anybody know the name of that creek? I named it canyon creek.

nice brown, ive fished that creek over by the school and the gas station years ago, but never knew the name off it.

Well, I guess it just adopted the name of "Canyon Creek".

[font "Arial"][red][size 3]The creek name is East Canyon Creek. The creek all the way to Park City used to be an amazing fishery. But with pesticides, sewer treatment plant leaks and other pollutants it almost died off all the way to East Canyon Reservior. The pollutants also killed off the kokanee population of East Canyon. From accounts I have heard, it used to be a really nice koke fishery about 30+ years ago.

With the help of filters at the sewer plant, and regulations on other substances that pollute the creek, it seems to be making a comeback as a fishery. I remember fishing the creek as a small child with my brother and catching some monster fish. In the past few years it only held small fish and in the late summer is so overran with moss it is impossible to fish.[/size][/red][/font]

I thought I had heard about kokes being in East Canyon at one time or another. I wish there was now! []

Hmmmm so they are in there. I fished it yesterday morning for about two hours with plastics, caught nothing and bailed. It all looks extremely fishy but I fished down probably half a mile and only saw two fish. Oh well.... I went somewhere else and caught my share so it wasn't a terrible day. Nice fish by the way. [cool]

ITS CALLED 2 THINGS. EAST CAYON CREEK. AND SPRING CREEK. IT USED TO BE FANNOMINAL BROWN STREAM. YOU CAN USE BAIT ON IT AS WELL. SOME BIGGER FISH ARE STILL IN THERE BUT ALOT OF TRESPASSING TO GET TO THEM NOW DAYS.
