All I can say is WOW! The fishing on Toho for Big fish is great and it is going to stay that way through April. The big fish this week on a guide trip was 12.6 lbs. It was taken using shiners (live bait) on the outside edge by reeds and grass close to Brown's Point. A shiner is a live bait which is a member of the shad family. As guides, we use this bait rigged with corks and no weight or free line them with no weight. So you don't have to be an experienced bass fisherman to catch fish. This is an excellent way to take a guide trip and enjoy a great day of fishing. It's easy and its fun pulling in those bass. The bass are in a pre-spawn and a post-spawn. The bedding season is late this year due to the weather conditions that we have had this winter. But boy it has been worth waiting for.

The locks are open so the water is running and there are fish just about everywhere...open water outside edge and staging fish on the inside. Some great places are Goblet's Cove, Shingle Creek, on the North side of Red's Fish Camp, on the East side the fish here are in open water and the inside boat runs going to the houses. Both sides of Whaley's Landing on the inside are great. There are a lot of buck bass there but also some big fish. I recommend open water rattle traps and Carolina rigs on the inside plastic lizards watermelon seed or top water flumes are a good bet. We still have open dates for April, so for some great bass fishing, give us a call.

The fish caught on Toho and Cypress are not edible until the end of March due to chemicals put into the water to treat the hydrilla.
