Great idea Kent. I was trying to get all my rods on my rod rack the other day and was thinking I needed more rack space. Did you use 3/4 inch PVC?

I used the 1" thin walled PVC, 1"X4" boards for attaching the PVC to and 2"X4" for the base; however 1"X4" base would have worked.

Thanks for the info Kent, I think I'll give it a try. The problem with the pre-made type like the one I have is the holders are spaced to close together. So when you get the same type of poles together they won't fit in the rack.

On the racks for the ice fishing rods I put many of the tubes close together so that I could fit lots of them in the racks (I move my reels from rod to rod, so I have many rods without reels). For the racks for my regular rods I put them about 5 inches apart.

Those look pretty good if I say so myself. I think you would make TD proud for using the Noggin before using the Visa.

[#0000ff][size 1]I do now. I got tired of repeatedly changing from a small drill bit to a larger drill bit, and finally to a phillips screw driver. I also messed up by assembling all of the wood frame before attaching the tubes. This made it so there wasn't room to fit my drill between the wood slats. Since then I have purchased off of KSL Classifieds a 1/2" hammer drill and a rechargeable drill. Next project there won't be any changing of bits -- I will just rig each drill up with different bits and switch from drill to drill. BTW -- I will be giving away (aka free) an 18 volt rechargeable drill that I purchased from Overstocked last year. It will be free because that is what it is worth![/size][/#0000ff]
