LAKE LBJ, CANYON LAKE AND CHOKE CANYON GUIDE REPORTS

Lake LBJ: Water muddy/stained; 76 degrees; 824.70':
Largemouth are good early to 7-1/2 lbs in 4'-12' along
rip rap of seawalls and breaklines w/stumps and
laydowns using Gizz 4 crankbaits watermelon-red Flukes,
watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, weightless
wacky rigged Whacky Sticks and chartreuse crankbaits.
White bass are slow to fair trolling Shad Raps.
Crappie are very good over brushpiles in 12' on
minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs.

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 74-76 degrees; 911.08':
Largemouth are good early in 2'-4' in flooded
bushes on Texas rigged watermelon-red Whacky Sticks
and watermelon-red Scoundrel worms, JDC Skip-N-Pop
topwaters and pumpkin 1/4 oz. Curb's Erratic jigs.
Also, in 6'-12' along bluff ledges using watermelon-
red and green flake tubes.
Smallmouth are good to 3-1/2 lbs. in 8' to 15' along
mainlake points ledges and rockpiles using rootbeer
JDC grubs & craws on Curb's 1/8th oz. jigheads, smoke-
red tubes on ball jigheads and Bleeding Shad Tiny
Traps.
Stripers are slow to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits
and Shad Raps and vrtically jigging white Curb's Striper
Jigs around deep humps.
White Bass are fair in 4'-8' upriver using Road Runners
and slow in the main lake.
Crappie are fair to good around submerged brushpiles
along breaklines using Curb's crappie jigs and live
minnows.

Choke Canyon: Water stained; 75 degrees:
Largemouth are good to very good along breaklines of
mainlake points and on submerged channel ledges from
8'-20' using chartreuse crankbaits, watermelon-red Whacky
Sticks, watermelon "Erratic" jigs (Chatterbait-type) and
Carolina rigged lizards or tubes.
Channel Catfish are excellent.
