The Arizona Game and Fish Department is instituting fire restrictions at 11 of its wildlife areas in the state starting May 23.
The following wildlife areas are affected:
Alamo Wildlife Area
Arlington Wildlife Area<br />
Base and Meridian Wildlife Area<br />
Colorado River Natural Center Wildlife Area<br />
Mittry Lake Wildlife Area<br />
Powers Butte Wildlife Area<br />
Quigley Wildlife Area<br />
Robbins Butte Wildlife Area<br />
Roosevelt Lake Wildlife Area<br />
Three Bar Wildlife Area<br />
Upper Verde Wildlife Area<br />
The following restrictions apply. No smoking will be allowed except within a vehicle. No open fires are allowed, which includes campfires, propane cook stoves, heating devices and lanterns except for within designated camping areas.
