Good Setup?
#1
i just got a brand new setup a couple days back, and im wondering if the choices I made were good. I mostly fish for Striper's and Blue's, on the jetty, a local canal, and some boat fishing. I paid around $155 for my setup including a:
-Tsunami (7ft, MH Action, Casting Rod)- feels almost exactly the same as a lamiglas that my friend paid about 200 bucks for
-Shimano Cardiff 400A-feels very similar to a calcutta, which im liking
-and some Power Pro 30 lb braid

going fishing with it the first time today, hoping for the best

That does sound like a good set up. It should be just right for the species that you are targeting.

You will not be dissappointed with the Cardiff. It is a very good reel. All you need to add is a little bit of Mono for a leader. You will be set to slay out there.

Good luck and be sure to tell us how you do.[cool]

got to test it out yesterday, and let me tell you, it is a very nice reel. smooth cast, and nice quick retrieve. didnt really get to fish yesterday, started raining pretty bad, but i managed to get a few casts in before it started pouring, im satisfied. along the way i might upgrade the rod, for a lamiglas, or g loomis, but for now its all good[cool]
