I got my new boat this weekend. It is a Aluminum 16ft Alumacraft with a 18hp Nissan motor. I found it at Cabelas. My question is do I need any kind of transom saver for the motor when trailering it. The motor weighs about 120lbs. I hauled it home on the boat from Cabelas to Tooele and the motor seemed to not move around too much. Do I need to install a Transom saver to protect the motor and the Transom on my boat?

[black]I use one on my 16 footer. And, I think it may be a good idea to get one for your's. It does protect the transom and the motor(in case you hit a pot hole, go over a speed bump, or going in and out of driveways).[/black]

I would definately recommend one. It will also help keep the mtor from turning while traveling.
