echo fishing
#1
[Smile] the fishing at echo was great this year the perch fishing was the best that i have had in the past 5 years. In past years on the ice the perch that i caught were between 8 to 12 inches. Many were in the 11 to 12 inch range. This year the perch were almost all very small i think i caught the smallest perch in the pond it was only 2 1/2 inches long. I don't know where the big perch went but i only caught a few big ones this year.

I was wondering if anyone fishes much for perch in the summer and if you ever catch any big ones. I'm hoping to go fishing for some perch and some smallmouth bass this summer. [unsure] what time of the year do you guys and gals start catching those hard fighting smallmouths and what do you use to catch them on. I like to catch those smallmouths down at flaming gorge in the summer but it's a ways off because the water is still very cold. I like to use small 2 inch up to 4 inch tube jigs and sometimes i also use panther martins they also work well. good luck fishing
