HOLDERNESS, N.H. -- On September 14-16, 2007, the New Hampshire Trappers Association (NHTA) will hold its 54th Annual Trappers Rendezvous at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness. Saturday and Sunday feature ongoing demonstrations, trapping supply vendors and activities for families. Rendezvous attractions will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 15; and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 16. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend. There is no charge for general admission. The N.H. Trappers Association annual fall meeting will take place on Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m.
This year, the Rendezvous includes a special session on Friday, September 14, in which participants spend the day walking through woods, field and water along with veteran local trappers Bill Bailey and Bob McMasters for instruction on how to trap fur. There is a $40 fee for this session and pre-registration is required; call Dwight Pennell at (603) 539-7954.
The Fall Trappers' Rendezvous is an educational event, with demonstrations of trapping techniques on Saturday and Sunday, conducted by New Hampshire Trappers Association members long experienced in trapping. Trapping supply vendors will be on hand at the event to help you get outfitted for the upcoming trapping season.Â
Activities will be happening on Saturday and Sunday for children and families. Be sure to visit the replica of an old-time Trapper's Cabin, built for the N.H. Fish and Game Department by the New Hampshire Trappers Association in 2003.Â
