All formerly restricted lakes open for normal boating
#1
The emergency order restricting the operation of motorized watercraft on Waldron, Steinbarger, Tamarack and Jones lakes in Noble County has been rescinded. Normal boating operations may now resume.

As a result of daily inspections, Indiana conservation officers have determined that the water is receding, and is at or moderately above normal levels.

On Aug. 24, the DNR director e had determined that due to high water, unusual hazards and conditions existed, boating would be restricted to non-motorized watercraft on the following lakes:

(a) Adams Lake, Oliver Lake, Olin Lake, Martin Lake, Dallas Lake, Witmer Lake, Hackenberg Lake, Messick Lake, Westler Lake, Big Turkey Lake, in LaGrange County

(b) Crooked Lake, Lake James, Snow Lake, Jimmerson Lake, Little Otter Lake, Big Otter Lake, Big Turkey Lake, Lake George in Steuben County

As a result of daily inspections by DNR Law Enforcement, those restrictions have been lifted on all lakes listed.
