Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
The whitebass have started to jump this week. The minnows have
showed up on the main lake ledges and the whites are after them.
Most of the good catches are being taken on Roostertails and jigging
spoons yet. The locks are going to be closed this week and next on
Lake Barkley. While the repairs are taking place Kentucky Lake will
probably have the most current, which means whitebass and
largemouth fishing will probably be better on Kentucky Lake.
Catfishing is good to excellent below the dams. Cutbait and stinkbaits
are the better baits now. Crappie fishing is slow and very few
fishermen are fishing for crappie. Bluegill fishing is excellent early and
late on a variety of baits. Fish for the bluegill along the deep points and
around the docks.

TIP: Keep two or three rods rigged with different baits for whitebass.
If you are fishing down and they suddenly jump, it is easier to change
rods than to change baits.

BITS AND PIECES: "It does not take sharp eyes to see the sun and
moon. Nor does it take sharp ears to hear the thunderclap. Wisdom is
not obvious. You must see the subtle and notice the hidden to be
victorious." Sun Szu

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
