RBFF exhibited at the International Boatbuilders' Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) last week in Miami, Fla., focusing on efforts to increase participation in boating. RBFF staff provided attendees with the latest information on a new boating and fishing campaign and updated attendees on new boating-related features on TakeMeFishing.org. They also provided information about the Anglers' Legacy program and a pilot program with the Oregon State Marine Board to address declining boat registrations.
"We're focusing our efforts on four major areas where we think we can have the greatest impact on participation," said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. "By working closely with our partners to promote both boating and fishing, to increase fishing license sales and boat registrations, and to introduce children to the sport, we want to energize the industry and help people discover, share and protect the legacy of boating and fishing."
