I originally started with making a Pill Popper forget the exact name Pheifer or something like that. Well I changed the body shape and added eyes that I cut out with my pocket knife that I hand painted. I am just waiting for all the paint to dry so I can glue the eyes in place and then glue the legs in. I think the main cork body may need another coat of paint. The eyes are yellow with black pupils and the body is a chaurtruese green and so is the buck tail legs I tied. Since the body is changed and the eyes are different is it the same name for the popper or do I name it? Just curious. I will post pictures later. Once it is all dry and finished. It is my first time making a fly popper. Never made a fly either. So this is my first project.

As soon as you can mass produce this Popper with it's own uniqueness from the others, you should be entitled to name it.
Good luck and we can't wait to see the pics.[cool]

It is drying now. It is all put together. I had to some touch up on the paint and now the touch up is drying. The glue dried. I was thinking of clear coating it to better protect and seal the paint. It is supposed to be permanent paint but maybe a clear coat would protect it from damage. I worry about the eyes getting busted off by fish if it does I will replace the eyes and put toothpicks in the body that have been cut to fit in the eyes and body to better hold it together. I just figure a nice thing of clear coat over it will make it better. I think I will wait to name it until after it has been fished a few times and proven useful or not. It is meant to look like a frog. Once this one dries I am going to set to work making a few more. So do people trade their home made flies and poppers on this site? If not maybe we can get a fly and popper trading board added.

We do have a "Fly Swap" from time to time and we also have people on this board that test new equipment and tackle items.
Let us know what you are interested in and we could get you set up one way or another.[cool]

I finished the first popper. I am working on the second one now. I have the cork attached to the hook and the first coat is drying and the eyes are painted with pupils and are drying. I just have to tie the legs and assemble the pieces once all the paint is dry. I will probably have a few of them up for trade at some point but I want to make sure they will catch fish before I start trading them.
