Finally connected
#1
Well it took a few days and a a lot of work but I finally got my wife on her first elk. We had 4 cow tags and filled them all in 5 hunting days. This year it was a very tough hunt because of the snow limiting our access but, we finally made it, and only got caught in one white out.

Notice how deep the snow was and how steep the canyons were.
OH yea, for the particulars: 225 yards, .270 Winchester, 150 gr. fusions, 1 shot through the lungs and heart.

Awesome. Looks like the freezer will be full for you this winter. I've only been out once on my cow hunt. Hope to change that this weekend. Congrats to your wife.

Congrads to Amy. Has she let you back in the house for pushing her face in the snow yet? LOL

Yea we're cool. She had just filled her tag so a little white wash didn't get to her. Now if I had done that after one of her missed shots- then it would be a different story!!

What area were your cow tags?

They were in the Henefer WMA. Lots of elk but the access this year was very limited because of the snow. I would guess that after this storm the only elk taken will be by the horse hunters.
