Young angler to be featured on Fred Trost’s Practical Sportsman
Jacob Volk, who caught a 10 1/4 pound pumpkinseed sunfish last year, traveled to Bath, Michigan, to tape an episode of Fred Trost’s Practical Sportsman on March 14.
Jacob’s big catch was snagged from Wixom Lake and was the second largest pumpkinseed sunfish caught in Michigan this year, and the eighth largest ever caught. His prize fish earned him a master angler award from the DNR.
Jacob is the son of David and Tracy Volk of Gladwin. He attends second grade at Gladwin Elementary. His episode will air sometime this summer, date to be announced.
