Upper Weber Gangbuster (UT)

I decided on a change of venue and headed up to Wanship this morning. It took me an hour to find a place to fish. Combat fishing at it's finest. What a joke![mad]
I walked downstream from my truck until i found a stretch that was unoccupied. I fished 2 runs without a fish and moved down again. I found a nice run feeding a deep pool and finally caught 3 huge whitefish. I started moving down farther and fished 3 more holes without anything. The next spot looked like my kinda run so i positioned myself in a good spot. First drift ,fish on and in the backing in less than 10 seconds![shocked] It took me 10 minutes and 4 runs to the backing to get this fish in. It ended up being a 25" brown![Smile] Wow, i couldn't believe it! Anyway, back to fishing. Next cast BAM, 22" brown! Now i am in extacy.[laugh] I get him in, release and back at it. Half way through the drift and the indicator stops. Fish on! 22" whitefish and he took me to the backing 3 times! I ended up catching 11 more whitefish in that hole and 5 more downstream. I lost 2 more nice browns and missed a few hits. All fish caught were over 20"! The fish were agressive and didn't hesitate pounding my tandem size 14 haresears. The pics are off my phone so the quality isn't very good but you get the point.
I hit the storm of the century about morgan and almost got blown off the road. The snow started piling up and it got bad. I am glad to be home watching it pile up on the lawn.[cool]

A 24" or 25" fish on the lower weber is rare. I don't fish the upper much but i heard from several people yesterday that those size are common(to a point) in that particular area. It has differet regs than the lower as well which might say alot for the fish up higher.[cool]
