PM - PRIVATE MESSAGES
#1
BFT has a feature many of us simply call a “PM”. That stands for “Private Message”. There are a couple of ways you can set up sending one.

[ol][li]Click on a user name for the person to whom you want to send a PM. That will bring up their profile page. Click on “Send Private Message”…at the top center of the page. That will bring up the screen for you to compose your message and is automatically addressed to that user.[/li][li]The second option is to click on “Private Messages” in the light blue menu bar on any BFT forum page. That will take you to your own list of PMs received. While there, you can also click on the button for “Sent Messages” to review any PM’s you have sent…but not yet deleted from your files. [/li][li]If you want to send a PM, click on “Compose Message”. That will bring up the “Send Private Message” screen. Here you must enter a subject and type in the user name of the intended recipient. This is case sensitive so you must have it exactly right. If necessary, you can copy and paste from another location.[/li][li]Composing and sending a PM is much like posting on one of the forums. CLICK HERE FOR HELP Use the Advanced Editor to select the font you want, and then write your message. Add any pictures or attach any files you want.[/li][li]When finished, click on “Send Message” and your recipient will be notified by email that he has a PM waiting to be read. It will also be noted, in red, at the top of all pages next to “Private Messages”.[/li][/ol]
If you receive a PM, you will usually have an email notification. You can go directly to the PM by clicking on the link in your email notice. Otherwise, you can click on the “Private Messages” button in the blue menu bar and it will bring up your PM list…with the new ones indicated with a yellow mark.

To reply to a PM, simply click on the “Reply” button and compose your message as above.
