Outdoor Women at Big Oaks Wildlife Refuge
#1
The Big Oaks Conservation Society and Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge host the fourth annual Outdoor Women at Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge in Madison, Saturday, June 7.
Outdoor Women at Big Oaks is an event designed to offer women a non-competitive atmosphere in which to gain skills in the out-of-doors.
This one-day award-winning program for ages 14 and older targets women who want to learn outdoor skills through a variety of courses on camping, fishing, hiking, canoeing, bird watching, archery, shooting sports and much more. It also helps women to develop a greater understanding of wildlife conservation and meet others who share their enthusiasm for the outdoors.
Registration forms can be downloaded at www.fws.gov/midwest/bigoaks or www.bigoaks.org. To have a registration form mailed, call (812) 273-0783. Some classes are limited in size. Early registration is recommended to get into first-choice classes. Registration deadline is May 17.
The early bird registration fee (before May 1) is $45. After May 1, the fee is $50. The fee includes a choice of three courses, plus lunch and refreshments, use of equipment and supplies, a day pass to Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge and an OWBO tote bag.
