Youth Shooting Sports Alliance Hosts Youth Shooter Retention Forum

The Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) will be hosting a special youth shooting sports program forum on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Holiday Inn North, 1950 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40511. Directions to the facility can be obtained by calling (859) 233-0512.


<br>The forum will begin at 9:00 AM with lunch provided to all attendees.<br>

<br>This forum will provide an opportunity for youth program leaders and representatives of archery clubs, gun clubs and commercial shooting range facilities to work together to ensure that shooting range facilities in the community provide a positive shooting atmosphere conducive to encouraging new shooters and their families to continue their shooting experience.<br>

<br>The forum agenda will include:<br>

<br>· An overview of youth shooting opportunities offered by each attending youth group and club/range representative.<br>

<br>· A presentation on the importance of shooting range community relations efforts and developing a positive shooting atmosphere for new youth shooters and their families.<br>

<br>· A group discussion on the tactics to employ in identifying new shooters and encouraging them and their families to actively participate in club/range activities.<br>

<br>· A delineation of tasks and accompanying responsibilities for achievement of the stated plan purpose.<br>

<br>The Youth Shooting Sports Alliance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to identify and support the needs of successful and safe youth programs that create measurable improvements in youth participation. YSSA also provides leadership in the development of cooperative initiatives between youth program leaders and managers of shooting range facilities to develop and strengthen a positive shooting atmosphere to retain and grow the involvement of youth and their families in all shooting sports.<br>
