Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
The recent warm trend has really helped with our cabin fever. Crappie fishermen are getting out on the big lakes and are catching some very good size fish. The numbers are still low. All the crappie are being taken on minnows fished along the secondary channels. The fish are coming at 20' to 22'. There is no largemouth activity to report. Some smallmouth are being caught from the east shore of Kentucky Lake. All are being taken on dark jig/pork combinations. Sauger is fair below Barkley Dam. Fishermen are using jigs tipped with minnows 1' to 2' off the bottom. Some spoonbills are being caught snagging below Kentucky Dam. With the warmer forcast crappie and smallmouth fishing will certainly improve over the next few weeks.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
