Tennessean report for Weber 5/19/08
#1
well it depends on how one chooses to look at things. . . jordanelle flow is just more than I can handle yet how beautiful it is to walk out and watch it rage just before the sun goes down!

Found the Weber today and experienced what I believe was the 'Mothers Day' hatch? Seriously, more bugs than I have EVER experienced. However, the trout did not seem to be as excited about the phenom as I. FINALLY, annoyed a 15' consistant feeder to take on my oversized BLACK caddis but he was hugged up TIGHT to the bank and some serious overhang. I think I'm loaded up now with caddis variations and look forward to tomorrow around 2-4P at Wanship, if conditions are the same.

What a BEAUTIFUL land you all have! !

Yes, the water is high, warm weather and all. That's why i sugest fishing below dams, less water.

When you see a hatch like that you really need to look at the fish, where are they taking the bug? on the surface? or just below?
In most cases it is just below, I don't fish dries in a hach, I fish emergers. I fish nymphs as emergers.
Be the caddis, your under a rock, you see the sun, you swim furiously to the surface, there you struggle to shuck your skin, then you float breifly and take to the air. Each cast should have that sequence.

Don't forget big streamers in this fast water, fewer fish, but big ones.
