Name of a sea fishing lure?

Hi there,

I recently saw another fishing boat with a lure and i would like to know the name of it if possible. It was like some sort of board trawling behind the boat and trickled along the surface of the water. So this was trickling along the top of the water as the boat moved along.

Does anyone know what it is?

Sounds like a side planer. They can be deployed on boats that don't have outriggers and they run the lure/bait off to the side. I personally don't like them, but they do work.
