[#008000]The International Women Fly Fishers 2008 Festival will be held at Pointe Royale Resort located in Branson, Missouri. Pointe Royale offers 1 to 3 bedroom condos located around a golf course, and, in some cases, walking distance to the banks of Taneycomo. Check out their site: [/#008000][#008000]www.pointeroyale.com[/#008000][#008000]. The Taneycomo portion of the White River is a world-class tailwater fishery for Rainbow and Brown trout. During the fall spawn from mid-September to mid-November, catching a brown over 20 inches is not uncommon. If one is brave enough to venture out at night, several large browns are caught at night during this period. Over the past 9 years, several 20 pound plus browns have been caught and one 37 lb. 1 oz. brown was found dead. Rainbows far outnumber the browns, so on any given day you'll be able to catch rainbows with an average size of 14 inches. Unless the dam is generating water, this fishery is very wader friendly. Most of the area has a small pebble bottom with few abrupt changes in depth, large open areas, and crystal clear water usually in the low to mid 40 degree range.
