Rivers End Tackle report
#1
STRIPED BASS - Its been a week with little gain towards a fall run.
Theres been some activity on the local reefs with chunks or live bait
but its been limited. Schoolies have been running along the Old Lyme
beaches with a few better ones. Word from the RI beaches has some dawn
and dusk action on the beaches east of Watch Hill.
Montauk seems to have a corner on small bait and bass. Theres still
a real good run of school bass from both shore and boat. The weather
pattern for the next week at least isn't expected to drive either out,
its worth the trip if the seas permit but don't expect any big bass.

BLUEFISH - There was a good run along the Town Beach for the past
few days. Theres been surface activity in and just outside the mouth of
the Connecticut River. The bunker seems to be coming out of Clinton
Harbor inviting a bunch of blues to breakfast. We had some slow reports
from the Gut but better at Pigeon Rip.

SNAPPER BLUES- We're not getting too many reports this week.

BLACKFISH- Season is closed until October 1st. Based on the comments
we got back we're going to have a blackfish contest similar to the fluke
contest. Sign ups will start tomorrow.

BONITO, FALSE ALBACORE - Every report so far this year on has been the
start of a 180 degree change. Last week I said Montauk died and it was
great on the week end. It might turn around again as I give another dire
report. The last few days over there its been a pick. There has been
reports of a pick along the RI shore and Harkness.

PORGIES- Still good with very little pressure on them. Theres mixed
sizes with smaller ones reported on Hatchetts.

BLUE CRABS- We had some good crabbing early this week from the DEP
Pier but they'll be hitting the road soon.
