WASHOUGAL RIVER COHO LIMITS DOUBLED

Action: Increase the daily limit of adult hatchery coho from two to four fish.

Species affected: Hatchery coho.

Effective date: Nov. 22 through Dec. 31, 2008.

Location: Mainstem Washougal from mouth to bridge at Salmon Falls.

Reason for action: Hatchery escapement needs for broodstock have been met. Significant numbers of surplus hatchery coho are available for harvest in the river.

Other information: Salmon daily limit six fish. Up to four may be adults of which no more than two may be adult chinook. Minimum size 12 inches. Release wild coho and chum. Through Nov. 30, release chinook upstream of the Little Washougal River. Closed waters from bridge at Salmon Falls upstream including all tributaries.
