My brother and I fished Glendale this morning, the ice was clear and a little over 2 inches. We caught 30 triploides 10 to 14 inches (give or take), and some fat 8 to 9 inch perch. They liked a lot of jigging and mealy's. We fished from 8:00 to 11:00. We fished in 14 feet of water in the cove East of the boat ramp. Aggresive biter's!

Thanks for the report. Do you know how the ice is in any other lakes in that area? Did you catch a lot of perch?

I haven't checked any lake close by, Foster Res. is all but empty, Treasureton was killed, Weston is about empty. The only other ones I can think of close by are Deep Creek and Twin, I've heard Deep Ck. is fishable but I haven't heard anything on Twin. Maybe someone else knows about Twin, let me know. As far as perch, we didn't target them and couldn't keep the trout off. So we only caught 4, but they chubby fellas. I think I'm going after them next time I go. I'll be in Blackfoot for the Holiday weekend and I don't know where to go, anyone have any great ideas?

Thanks for the report sounds like a good day that causes stress on the back!
You should certainly go out while in Blackfoot. A feww places I would recommend:
1. McTucker Ponds: Has been fast through the ice in the past; if one pond does not produce move to another there are eight to choose from. Here are directions from the fish and game web site:
From State Highway 39 that runs between American Falls and Blackfoot, turn south at mile marker 34.8 onto 1700 West (Steiklein Road) and go 2.7 miles to a "T" in road. Turn right and go 1 mile on 1075 South (River Road) to "T" in road and turn left into the McTucker Ponds complex
2. American Falls is like rolling dice, you never know what you will get: small perch, big perch, giant chubs, and/or giant trout.
3. Roberts Gravel Pond Exit 130 I-15: Fast perch action in five feet of water with a few trout thrown in. Can easily see fish hit your jig. You will drive past it on the interstate before Exit 130, you will have to back track to get there. When you pull into Roberts turn right and drive to the tracks and take another right for two miles look for small brown sign on the right side of the road for further directions.
4. Rose Ponds Exit 98 are the closest to Blackfoot, however, I never have heard of a good winter report. Some say there is only two feet of water after you drill.
Good Luck,
