Deep Creek 12-30-08

A friend and I went to the Creek tuesday for the first time this year. Fished down by the dam, starting about 8:15 Am. Starrted with a bang, had 3 fish iced in about ten minutes, mostly panter size 10"-12". Then started to get a few of the average 14"s. My friend started off real slow but finally got into the fish after 35-45 minutes. When he did get start he did it up big, hooked a 4.75 lb bow, bigest fish I've seen out of Deep Creek.Ice was ok but you definately need to watch your step, lots of holes big enough for a mans foot to go through, also had a lot of slush and water in places. Definitely ready for another trip soon.

The otherside of the dam seems to be where it is at. Just be ready to walk there or have some good truck tires/chains to get you across.....
