Frankfort, Kentucky - As if smallmouth bass fishing didn't pose enough of a challenge, "Kentucky Afield" TV adds winter to the mix this weekend, February 14 and 15.
Kentucky Afield associate editor Lee McClellan shows how the float and fly method can make a monster difference for late winter smallmouth anglers. The action takes place on Lake Cumberland where, despite the calendar, the weather is terrific for this under-utilized technique.
While many areas of the state are still recovering from February's ice storm, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources' Small Game Coordinator John Morgan talks about its impact on wildlife and habitats. We look at the thick of things after the thaw.
Also on the show, host Tim Farmer invites us to his kitchen for trout as it was meant to be cooked.
