Gator and I got out for almost 1/2 day of fishing this morning. We did pretty good quality wise, but not too good quantity wise. We only caught 15 crappie, but 8 or those were keepers, and I caught 2 TARP crappie and we had a couple of 13" fish to go with the other 4 keepers. Only one 10.5" fish and the others were 11 or 12 inches long. I would have loved to have these fish in the next crappie tx.

We started off in Wolftever creek and I caught the first TARP in the creek. Another couple of good keepers came from there, then we decided to go to the river and find some cleaner water. So, I went to some docks on the main river and caught all the rest of the fish. I caught the 2nd TARP fish from under a pontoon boat. Ringer stingers, and crappie pups were what I threw and Gator caught his fish on BG salt/pepper 2" shads. Most fish came shallow over deeper water.

Water temp in the creek was 48.5 and 47.5 in the river. I guess the cold nights that we have had the past few days has knocked the temps down in the lake a little bit, but with this warm sunshine this week, there will be a rapid rise in the surface temps and probably a bold move to the shallows by the fish.

Hal and I are going again in the morning. Hope for a better day. emoBig
