Davo, Chickamauga CBA, Bass, 2/28, Cutthroat
#1
Well, after I had a totally miserable practice day on Chickamauga Thursday, we decided to stay on Chick. Damon had been on some fish further up river. We headed a good ways up to some creeks. Our first stop yeilded not a single bite. Next stop, Damon catches a couple of dinks fairly quickly on a DT6 and I followed up with back to back mega dinks on a jig. About 30 minutes later Damon catches another dink on a creature bait. Things are not looking too good for us and we were beginning to think we should have locked through. Anyway, we tried a few more spots but think that we were probably a month or so early for them. We decided to fish some on the main lake, chunk rock banks. I finally caught our first and only keeper, a 4.6lb smallie on a Pointer DD100 just off a dock. A short while later I caught another smallie that was only 17 inches and that was it for us. Cold, wet, and no fish to make us warm. It was a fun Tx just the same but I am looking forward to the days when I know all I will be wearing are shorts and a Tshirt.
