Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
Whitebass are feeding on the surface very early and very late in the day. The action has been great, especially in Kentucky Lake. Mepps and small top water baits are really working. The whites have begun to get a bit smaller in length. The bigger ones are still being caught on the bottom under the jumps. They will start moving towards the mouths of the bays soon. Largemouth are good on crankbaits and plastic baits along the main lake points in Lake Barkley. Crappie are spotty. The crappie fishermen have just started fishing and have had scattered catches along the main lake drops using minnows. Catfish are slow in the big lakes. They are fair to good in the tail waters of the dams. Bluegill are fair to good on crickets along the deep points and around the docks.

TIP: Remember that the days are getting shorter and the nights longer. The water temps will start cooling soon and fish will start moving toward fall patterns.

BITS AND PIECES: Carpe Diem

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
