mlock, Parksville, Bass, 03/08/2009, Wife
#1
Went out to Parksville on Sunday and thought I would try the bass and see if any spots were active. Put in around 2pm until around 6pm. I mainly fished shallow along trees and any structure any isolated cover. At first I was throwing a jig & pig and wasnt getting anything. The wife was throwing a Culprit sinko - green pumpkin with chartr tail. She had a few hits but comically wasnt well-rounded enough in the art of weightless plastics. So she did a lot of hook sets with no result. But she did have activity. Finally I tied on a silver buddy and was throwing in to about 4 feet from the bank around trees and cranking back up. After maybe ten min had a spot come up from the depths and hit it like a train. He was about 2lbs, and of course 5 min later I hang it up in about 15 foot of water and couldnt get it back...yep only one I had in the inventory. But I through spinner bait, 4inch ringer, etc, no luck. But we had a great time. Plenty of fish in schools reading at about 90ft in the middle of the lake. Saw plenty of schools of shad way back in the coves, and oddly enough many were floating and some appeared to be dying. Possibly the TVA sediment mishaps couple of months ago? Anyway hope this helps. Take care and God Bless.
