I went to the riverpark hoping to find some crusing smallmouth. Instead I found a west wind that was 3 times what the weather channel said it would be. I went to 4 places I know usualy holds some baitfish and started scanning looking for some action... nothing! So I went down river to fish some main river structure. popped a few of Mr. Wiskers' pet spaaats. I called my buddy who runs Rhythm & Brews downtown and he brought some High Life and we just putted around and swaped war stories and had a few beers in the 80 degree weather. We then rode up to the Boathouse and slammed a few dozen oysters and then I had to get him back to work. With about 30 mins before dark the wind had died down so I went to dam and started throwing the tube around and popped this little 16.5 incher right before dark. First of many smallies on my new bronzeback rod.
Water temp reached 54 in one spot.
