How often should you apply line dressing, Like Glide?
Right now I am apply 5 to 10 drops of glide on a paper towel and running my fly line through it after every outing; is that too much?

I don't think so. Most my lines don't require dressing but I do clean them with soapy water. When I do like on my Sylk, I too use glide. It is probably a good practice. It can't hurt the line.

it is important to make sure to wipe it down after you are done because it will collect debris and be counter productive if left on there.

I have one of those little green boxes with the foam like shammy in it, plus an easy winder so it gets done for sure, but thanks for bringing that up for people that might not know.

[#008000]Might want to think about using a soft cloth instead of paper towels. Paper contains wood pulp. That is why lens makers advocate not using any paper product to clean one's glasses. [/#008000]
