My wife didn’t feel well today, so I tried my best to Doctor on her, but the harder I tried, the more trouble I got into. I quickly realized that I needed to be somewhere else. I stopped at one of my favorite docks and caught 5 keepers on the first 10 casts and thought that since the fish were biting and I didn’t really want the fish, this would be the perfect opportunity to find some new secret spots. I fished 10 new-to-me docks. 3 of them had fish. The things the fish holding docks had in common were: they were in from 6 to 16 feet of water, they were floating docks with some brush out from the dock; all were on the north shore of 3 different slews. I used a 1/32 oz jig with any kind of plastic. Most fish were on a 6-8 count with undetectable strikes, I would just take the slack out of the line and they would be there. I caught in the neighborhood of 20 keepers with the largest being 12”. It was the only one over 11”. All fish were released and I didn’t think to take pictures – they weren’t really photo worthy anyway.
