Got out around 9am this morning. My uncle came in town wanting to load his freezer with some crappie. Well I haven't crappie fished since he was in town last April, so I didn't make in promises. Well between 9am and 2pm we had put 1 keeper in the live well. emoBang So after lunch went further back into into a slew that has quite a bit of rip rap and pretty good depth off of it. My partners were armed with minnows, and I was armed with a red and chartreuse ringer stinger. Within the next hour or so my little ringer stinger put the live bait to shame!! Finally they gave in and started using the same lures. We ended the day with 29 keepers. Biggest was right at 15 inches and as fat as me !!emoEek Caught a ton that were very dark black. I guess it's that time of year. We'll be back out tomorrow.
