After a very slow practice week I felt like I might be able to catch a 15-17 lb stringer from the areas I had been fishing. With the rising water levels and cold front that came in Friday we made the decision to completely change areas on our way to the tournament Saturday morning. I decided to go to an area that has been good in the past under the same water and weather conditions. I know it sounds crazy to abandon your game plan and what you learned in practice, but decisions like this are sometimes the difference in winning and just getting a check. We only caught 9 fish Saturday and they all came on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. We ended up with our best five weighing 31.82 lbs.
