TR20bh and I got together today early before a planned crappie outing with one of his buddies and my neighbor J. Frost. We got on the water close to 2pm and it was windy but the rain only came and went. Nothing too bad. We fished a spawning slough in 1-5 ft of water where he had done well recently but only had a few hits but no fish in the boat. Got a call from J. Frost that he was coming even if it rained and we picked him up at HBSP. Fished a spot that I just knew must have some good fish and had three keepers before we left including a TARP white crappie. We then ran to a shallow spawning flat a few miles away but there were two boats already there. The only other two boats on the lake because of the rain and they were both on my primary spot. So much for secret spots. Fished close by watching to see if they moved off and they didn't so made a run to WT. Another CFF member, who will remain nameless unless he wants to have bunches of people PMing him for info, had shared some info that put us on fish. We caught a bunch of fish including 27 or 28 keepers, depending on who was counting. We had many that were better than 13 inches and only 3-4 in the 10-11 inch range. We caught more than what I had thought. The water temp was 57-58 degrees and the best count seemed to be around 6. We fished mostly panfish assassins on multidirectional wood. The water in WT was stained but remarkably the fish were still catchable. It was good to meet J. Frost and be able to have him take home a bunch for a fish fry. I would bet that if the water hadn't been stained that we would have had a bunch more. We fished from about 4pm to 8pm for crappie. It was a good day.

Oh, be careful running in WT creek as there is lots of debris in the channel in the mid creek. I ran back home in the dark and for about the last mile I didn't stay on plane to help keep me from tearing up my lower unit. The water is higher now than it has been since October or so and a lot of branches and sticks are floating around. I didn't see any trees and I didn't hit any as far as I know either.

I hope that TR20bh got some pics.
