Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
The whitebass have slowed some this week. They are still in the jumps very early and late. Mid-day fishing has slowed. The whitebass seem to have started moving towards the fall patterns. Some very nice ones are still being caught on Lake Barkley on in line spinners fished off the bottom. Largemouth are being caught on the deep gravel points in Kentucky Lake. Most are coming on deep crank baits in white and silver colors. Smallmouth are hitting small jigs and plastic worms along the drops in the mouths of the larger bays in Kentucky Lake. Both should be considered only fair. Bluegill are fair to good on crickets under the docks. Catfishing is good below the dams on night crawlers and cut bait. Crappie fishermen are catching some nice crappie using minnows fished along the main lake drops but the number is still low.

TIP: The l;akes are close to winter pool, so be careful while running in shallow water. The extra water over the shallow spots is not there now.

BIT AND PIECES: "The best way out is always through." Robert Frost

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
