Ol' noodlin'/grabblin' baldy has been buggin' me to take him rod & reel cattin' again, and since he forgot his hat I gave him one and we went to kittyland to play. We saw Will (now new member "willR&quotWink from the other day and Cathooker, so the pressure was on to produce again. I started us off with an amazing 55 pound flathead catfish that had Heath's eyes bugging out and his Tongue hanging down. He even had to have his pic taken with it. The boy is a flathead maniac!!

Heath reared back with his light rod and 10 pound line and had a terrific fight for quite a while and when he finally saw it he said "carp" but I knew what it was. He had caught a huge 26 pound smallmouth buffalo! What a fight that was! This was his personal best buffalo - well, it's also his ONLY one, but still......

And then Heath was rewarded for putting up with my foolishness by catching his honest-to-goodness personal best blue catfish at 37 pounds!!!! emoToast Congrats Heath J !!!!! I'm pretty sure that this beat his previous PB by about 4 pounds (also caught on a trip with me emoTongue ).

To be honest, I could have done without the butt crack when he bent over to release the fish, and would have posted a pic if I were faster with the camera emoBigSmile emoBigSmile

We wound up the trip with a total of 6 fish, the smallest was 13 pounds. The fishing was truly slow, and we were really fortunate to have done so well. Heath will post more pics taken with his camera - we got some good ones!
