Jason and I met up at the wolf at 5 to see if we could find a couple fish and get a handle on what they were doing before the tournament started. We went to an area I was not planning on fishing and started casting shakey heads, he had on a craw and me a finess worm. In no time we had three keepers in the boat that would go close to nine pounds. emoEek I told Jason we had better stop fishing that area cause I thought we might want to change our minds and hit that area afterall. emoBig
We had boated three keepers and five slicks in about one hour. emoDoh Went back to the wolf ramp and got with the rest of the fleet. There was about 35 boats in this one so I figured it would take some weight to win. We were boat 14 so we got to start quickly. Hit my first area and boated a couple slicks and then hooked up with a good one about two to three pounds. Got it coming to the boat and she just came off. Fished there another thirty minutes and nothing. Told Jason we needed to go hit where we had just been and he agreed. We must have boated another 15 or so bass out of that area in 10 to 23 foot of water. I had one just shy of four pounds and Jason had a nice one about 2.7 pounds. Could not get that third keeper.
Told Jason I had a couple sweet spots and we would hit those with what little light was left. My sweet spots paid off with three more keepers all on a shakey. emoThumbsup I knew we had about 9 pounds so I was just hoping to get a check. To our surprise there was not that many bags weighed in and most did poor. We got third with only 8.81 pounds. emoThumbsup About ten won it, I think it was 9.91 pounds and 9.11 came in second. I do not know the weights for fourth and fifth. Five places were paid. Big bass was five something I think.

Very well run tournament, I enjoyed fishing it and Jason is a great partner. emoAngler Jmax
