SOUTH FORK RESERVOIR

Trout fishing is picking up with many trout in the two to three pound range being caught at the mine expo fishing tournament on June 10th. Both boaters and shore anglers are catching most of the fish near the spillway and along the dam in about 20 feet of water. Worms and power bait are working well, while some larger fish have been taken using the Mormon crickets that have invaded. Bass fishing is relatively slow. Try using crank baits or rubber worms and please give the guard males on the nests a break. Some fishermen are hitting the same fish regularly and it isn’t very sporting. All bass must be released immediately into the water until July 1st.
