Took the day off from work today as I cannot fish Saturday. Very nice weather day. Water temperature around 70-71 degrees where we were fishing. Caught 40 crappie today with only 11 being keepers. Have a feeling they have peaked but we'll see. Still some spawning and yet to spawn as the majority of the keepers were females with eggs. We called "last cast" of the day unless we catch a fish (as I'm sure many of you do) and happened to get a jolt of a hit from something. As my drag started screaming I knew I had latched on to something quite large. Suspected either rockfish or catfish. After a while I felt it roll so I knew it was a catfish. Was using the 8lb test 1 lb diameter power pro braid and 25 minutes later managed to land it. Not a bad way to end the day. (picture attached)
