Made our last foray onto St. Joe Bay today (this trip). Trout fishing was not as good as Thursday AM, but better than yesterday.

My buddy Randy is a hardcore flyrod guy (although he will cross over the dark side in a heartbeat). But he remained "pure" today and never put the flyrod down.

I beat him in numbers, but he whipped me on size. He nailed a 21-inch spec on a clouser minnow. That was some fun (watching and fighting)! I managed to raise a few fish on a Mirror Lure (topwater). It is a rush watching 'em bust on top.

The ride home was fun. Tide had dropped more than I realized and I ventured across a shallow section of the Bay in Randy's 23-foot Key West with a 150 Evinrude. It got very hairy when we started blowing sand at 30 mph, but I knew if I set her down, we'd be there a while. I just trimmed it up and "let 'er eat" and we fortunately made it back to deep water.... in St. Joe Bay that means about 3 or 4 feet.

My heart has returned to a near normal rate, the fish are cleaned and the boat is washed and "put away" for the ride home tomorrow. We might venture out to fish on the beach this evening, depending upon how much liquid refreshment we enjoy.

Life is VERY good and gettin' better everyday! emoBig
