My wife and i went to Cherokee on the first we were fishing off the bank for trout when all of a sudden 7 elk came down across the river not 40 yards away and crossed . we have been every year for the past ten years but this was the first time we ever saw them 6 cows 1 bull Talked to locals they say they were released 15 years ago it was pretty cool so if you go to cherokee be on the look out for them
