Just another day on the lake
#1
I had about 2 hours of lake time available after work today before I had to head back for my teams playoff match. Walked down from the right lot of 33 hole and found a little point to toss out an anchovie. Hooked up a second rod with a Rat-l-trap and tossed it around as I walked up and down the bank. Ended up back in a cove where I could see a nice school of about 20 fish together, but couldn't tell type. Had a silver tint so guessing stripers, but hard to say. Ran into a few singles as well. This was in no more than 4 feet of water between two land masses. Couldn't entice them with the trap, chovie, plastics, or anything else I threw. Of course this was at about 1:30pm so it was outside their eating window. Just nice to be out of the city and at the water. No fish, but nice hike.

On the ride back, noticed Boulder Harbor is becoming Boulder Pond. Anyone try fishing there recently? Had good success there before, but wondering if the fish are moving out.

You probably ran into a big school of carp. They are everywhere in the shallows right now getting their spawn into action. They can be caught on a variety of baits if you like fighting with 5 to 10 pound fish. White bread balled up the size of a dime on a size 1 hook with a split shot or two can really kill em.

I heard Boulder harbor hasn't been producing much lately. Its crazy to see the hump that high out of the water.
