Well we headed to the river park a little after 5, getting there and in the water by about 6. Tired a few spots on the river park side but the water was just too muddy from the chick creek. Ended up on the CGCC side fishing the rock. Started out this a shaky head throwing it almost onto the rocks and letting it fall and get pushed by the current. I had a green pumpkin craw thingy and lefty had a junebug shaky head worm. We caught a few between the boat for rent pier and the club house, then drifted it again a caught a few more. Floated on down from there to where the bar sticks out in front of the condos and plum wore them out. I switched over to a tube on a drop shot rig. The current was so strong if you got hung you lost it, so the drop shot allowed me to only lose the weight and not the hook and plastic. Think I put about 6oz of lead on the bottom between my weights and lefty's shaky heads. He caught his PB smallie right at 3lb. Did not even look at the water temp, it was fast though. The tube on the drop shot was definitely the winner for the evening. Total we had 30 fish, 10 smallies, 17 spots and 3 nice bream. the bigger fish seemed to be about 10-20 off the bank in a little deeper water. I believe you could and I might try this, make a drop shot rig with cloths hanger so it does not hang up and just drift and globber the fish right now. Just cast to the shore and let it drift until you are pulling it behind the boat and it is bouncing along. Left the water around 9:30. Good times tonight.
