Bprice, Guntersville, Bass, Rain and Wind, 5/23/09
#1
<br /> Put in at Holiday Shores at 5:30 this morning and was immediately greeted with a strong east wind. Started out near the mouth of Boshart, and quickly put two limits in the boat by 6:45. All but one were in the 2.5-3.5 lb class, with one nice 4 lb 9 oz bass mixed in. Fish were on a hard bottom high spot, and all were taken on DJW and Mann's Spinnerbaits. That bite died soon there after, and we moved down river towards Town Creek. Fished some main river areas to no avail. Found some hard bottom points in the backwater near Seibold and boated a few more keepers in the 3 lb range on lizards. As the wind kicked up and the rain started we moved back out to main channel and found a sweet spot were we boated 6 more keepers, with the biggest of that bunch being 5 lbs. Those fish were all deep (15+ft) and all post spawn. Most where spitting up shad and small bluegills at the boat. Finished the day off back towards Boshart where Hammer boated a 4 lber that hadn't spawned yet. The bite is unreal right now on Guntersville, even with bad conditions... we boated 21 keepers and several throw backs. Our best five was approaching 20ish lbs, maybe a touch more. Lizards, spinnerbaits, rigs and crankbaits were on the menu today. Water temps were 70-74 depending on the depth. Sorry, left the camera at home, so most will say this report is worthless! Smile
