After being sidelined yesterday with a stomach flu, Alvin and I got out this morning to check on the topwater bite at the Riverpark. It was on fire. We had over 100 blow ups this morning on torpedo. The fish would just kill the thing. We ended up boating 54 bass and lost at least one for every fish we boated. We could not for the life of us get the fish in the boat and we hooked well over 100 bass today. For the most part the fish were within 3-5 feet of the bank and would kill anything that was brightly colored. Alvin threw a torpedo for most of the day and I threw a torpedo and a chartuse LC crank that they would just kill. We also boated a few on tubes, DJW spinner baits and 4" worms. Alvin caught a small crappie on a texas rigged 4" worm. Unreal. Fishing was good until around 10AM when the River Gorge Destroyer came down and muddied up the banks. After that the fishing died. All fish were spots except for one keeper LM.
Water temp was 71. We only got rained on 2-3 times. Just enough to get the boat wet. All in all a very nice day on the water.
