What...a....day!!! My buddy Randy is getting back into fishing, and he just bought a early 90s model Bass Tracker Fiberglass 1800. Its a nice little ride, and we decided to break 'er in today, and we sure did. We put in at Waterfront around 5:15, and headed upriver to Boshart. Got back on an area that was good to me Saturday, and we found em were they were supposed to be. By 6:20 we had 12 keepers in the boat, all on a mix of spinnerbaits, xr50s, and lizards. Randy piled into a post spawn 4.25 lber, which looked just laid out, what a way to break in your boat. We ended up staying there til 7:45, and put a 4.8 lber, 6 lber, and a host of 3 lbers to boot. Wet Willie and Churls stopped by, we swapped insults and I left the area to them. As we made our way downstream I looked back and Churls nailed a nice keeper! Way to go guys, it was great to see you. Those fish were all shallow, and were a mix of bed fish and post spawn. We headed down river to Pine Island, and got on a good bite deep on rigs. Boat was sitting in 30 ft of water and worked the ledge, and the rain dumped on us hard, but a 5.1 lber dried me off pretty nicely. We boated several slicks, and decided to check out some shallow water holes in South Sauty and towards the back of Boshart. All we had to show back there was 7 slicks, and two fat cheeseburgers from South Sauty Cafe! Finished our day off the river channel, were I nailed a 3.8 lber that literally looked like it just came off the bed. It was bleeding, lost an eye, and had cuts all over it. Poor girl, but she was fiesty.
All in all it was a pretty uncrowded lake and we had a whole host of different weather conditions...overcast, hard rain, strong wind, no wind, and beautiful blue skies! Oh well... we boated 19 keepers, and 33 total, best five were 23.95 lbs! I told Randy that he shouldn't expect this every trip, because its a once in a lifetime day. Water temps were 74-76 degrees, and we caught fish anywhere from 15 inches of water down to 32 ft. Literally you can catch them anywhere on Guntersville right now!
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e230/f....jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e230/f....jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e230/f....jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e230/f....jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e230/f...NY0232.jpg
